Radiozero vs. Powerchord. Metal.

this is a bit of a deviation from what we normally do up at radiozero. actually it's a complete deviation. if you are looking for poppy dance music please come back next week. in fact, turn off your computer and go outside. run. we'll have a normal radiozero posted next week...

back in july me and mike covered for another show on CiTR called Powerchord. It's a weekly metal show that's been an institution in vancouver for over two decades. needless to say we really didn't want to disappoint the men at powerchord while we produced this program in their stead. so we called up the weed delivery service, got really stoned and went to air with the following. we were convinced this was the best idea we'd had yet.

the program begins with a bit of a thrash sendup, highlighting rendundancy (motorhead by motorhead, angelwitch by angelwitch, original versions of covers, etc). really just a bunch of convoluted shit I grew up with. because we were so baked every time I was talking about 1985 I was saying 1995. so if you hear me talking about how slayer recorded live undead in 1995 please dismiss that. it was all 1985. the last half descends into a serious metal burner, a.k.a. a bunch of songs mike grew up with. Old Man Gloom's "hot salvation" might be the most bad ass song I've ever heard.
